The Louis Carr Internship Foundation experience was one of the greatest opportunities that I have found in my college career. It allowed me to experience the information that I have been studying for the past three years in motion, not to mention with a company that I could only dream to work with. I believe that it was a blessing to be able to work for Black Entertainment Television Ad Sales department. The individuals that I met gave advice and kind words of encouragement and showed me that success is all in my grasp and in the field of study that I chose to pursue when I entered college. I was able to network with professionals in the field and work to build relationships that will have a lasting impact on me. I learned many new skills through the LCIF foundation also, including ways to handle clients, pinpoint the wants of a company and conducting business meetings in a way that will leave the clients in awe. Overall I believe that the Louis Carr Internship Foundation is one that is helping minority students who do not necessarily have the connections or opportunity to experience an internship in the communication field that will totally change the outlook they have on the professions that fall within the communications field. The whole experience from being in New York to working with BET, and being able to meet Mr. Carr made my summer one of growth and learning, opening my eyes to see that I have a future in the field.
