As a freshman from Howard University, I was very pleased with the results from my internship. I left with not only a better resume, but also a more concise understanding of advertising. I interned at the American Advertising Federation in Washington, DC. The first few weeks were a bit intimidating as I was timid and apprehensive; however, as the internship progressed I found myself more comfortable and self-assured. My greatest improvement has been trusting my own decisions and most importantly, not being afraid to ASK QUESTIONS. I am more than grateful to have had this opportunity! It is because of this that I am more enthused about my academics as well as my career goals. The Louis Carr Internship Foundation has been beneficial in guiding me throughout my career path.

I am grateful to have been selected and given such an amazing opportunity from Mr. Carr and the Louis Carr Internship Foundation.  This summer I interned with UniWorld Group, Inc., the longest-standing minority owned ad agency in the U.S.  The experience at UniWorld was phenomenal.  The entire UniWorld staff was absolutely helpful and excited to have me as the production intern.  It was very interesting and informative to learn the sequential steps of how an ad agency works with their clients.  I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge in the advertising industry that will undoubtedly assist me in my future endeavors.  The Louis Carr Internship Foundation enabled me to expand my networking base by meeting prominent individuals within the communications industry.

Nothing less than extraordinary is how I would describe my experience as a Louis Carr intern for the summer of 2011. Learning what it takes to be successful in my field of study, Mass Communications, could not have been more enlightening.  Working at Walton|Isaacson Advertising agency this summer has made a dramatic impact on my future career and my character. I was able to work with major brands in the industry including AXE, Degree, and Dove. This once in a lifetime  opportunity has given me a better perspective on my career path, insight into the world of advertising and a keen eye for detail.

It has been a pleasure to be affiliated with this program and I would like to thank the entire Louis Carr Internship Foundation for all of their help and guidance through this transition in my career. Thanks to the foundation I was able to spend my summer in New York City where I networked with employees from Viacom, Comedy Central ,MTV and BET. This industry has not seen the last of me.

My internship experience at BET Networks in the Media Sales Department, Chicago office was one of the best experiences in my life. I was able to learn valuable lessons and gain experience in the corporate arena that will help propel me into my career. The staff was wonderful and were dedicated to making sure I learned everything about how the business functions in conjunction with the New York office and the L.A. office. I love being in the presence of people who enjoyed their jobs and did everything in their power to make sure things were running properly and that I got thorough training and mentoring. I would recommend the Louis Carr Internship Foundation to all who are serious about furthering their career because the experience and knowledge that is gained through the program is priceless.

The Louis Carr Internship Foundation has not only provided me with invaluable career opportunities but it has also facilitated my personal growth and professional development.  As a US Marketing intern with McDonald’s Corporation, I have been exposed to the marketing and communication strategies of one of the worlds most recognized and valuable brands. During my experience, I was able to network with corporate leaders in the marketing and advertising industry. Furthermore, my work on meaningful projects allowed me to further develop an understanding of what I might be interested in career-wise.  In addition to a positive work experience, my interactions with Mr. Louis Carr himself and the Foundation staff have all been meaningful, insightful, and enjoyable. The guidance, support, and opportunities offered by the Louis Carr Internship Foundation has been priceless as I begin my exploration of full time work possibilities.
